Job summary

BT Group is seeking a Network Security Professional in Sheffield to provide expert technical support on complex network and cyber security deployments for UK contracts. You will build strong relationships, communicate effectively, and drive meeting expectations and deadlines.

You will act as a cyber and networking security incident decision maker, guiding mitigation and incident response. You will support customers and internal teams, own integration testing, and contribute to secure design

Qualifications

• CompTIA Network+ or equivalent certification required.
• Firewall engineering skills with Fortinet, Cisco ASA/ISE/FirePower, Palo Alto, Checkpoint.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and OSI model; understanding of data networks and network security practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide security guidance and remediation to BT and external customers.
• Own integration testing on new security products and services.
• Act as cyber/security incident decision maker and ensure appropriate mitigation.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to develop and document processes.

Network Security Professional

Job Location: GBR Sheffield Endeavour

About the role

This role exists to provide Professional technical support on complex network security and cyber security deployments for any and all of our UK contracts. Building intermate working relationships and trust through effective communication and meeting expectation and deadlines is key. Liaising with customer representatives or vendors and directing other support staff where appropriate will form part of the role.

What you’ll be doing

• One key thing that all of our engineers have in common is a desire to develop/deliver brilliant, industry redefining platforms as well as their own skills.
• We need you to be a cyber/ networking security incident decision maker, responsible for ensuring that mitigation controls and incident response are appropriate
• Providing security advice and remediation to Lines of Business within BT and external customers,
• Complete and own integration testing on new products and services, producing all relevant supporting documentation
• Postiviely support team leader and line manager.

Essential Skills / Experience

• Minimum of CompTIA Network +/ Equal Certification plus the below Firewall Engineering Skillset:

• ZScaler
• F5 Load balancer
• Knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP & OSI seven-layer model and how data networks are structured and operate.
