Job summary

Morgan Hunt UK Limited in Edinburgh is seeking a Network or Security Analyst to join a technical team. You will troubleshoot network and security issues, manage requests and support changes in live environments, with exposure to modern cyber security technologies.

The role combines hybrid work (2 days onsite) with hands-on experience across firewalls, proxies, remote access and Zero Trust technologies. Salary starts at £39,000 with benefits and a permanent, full-time contract.

Are you a Network or Security Analyst with experience of firewalls, proxies, remote access or Zero Trust technologies looking to develop your career within network security?

The role

Working as part of an established technical team you'll help troubleshoot network and security issues, manage technical requests and support changes within live production environments. You'll work alongside experienced security professionals giving you the opportunity to further develop your knowledge while gaining hands‑on exposure to modern cyber security technologies.

Responsibilities will include:

• Troubleshooting network and security-related incidents
• Investigating firewall policies and rule bases
• Supporting proxy, remote access and ZTNA technologies
• Triaging and prioritising technical incidents based on business impact
• Supporting adds, moves and changes within production systems
• Working closely with end users, technical teams and stakeholders
• Managing your own workload and ticket backlog
• Providing clear communication throughout incident investigation and resolution

What I'm looking for;

Experience with Zscaler would be highly desirable but I'm equally interested in candidates with transferable network security experience who understand the underlying concepts.

You may have worked with technologies such as:

• Zscaler, ZIA or ZPA
• Fortinet / FortiGate
• Palo Alto
• Check Point or similar firewall technologies
• Firewalls and security rule bases
• Proxy / Secure Web Gateway technologies
• ZTNA / Zero Trust
• VPN and remote access solutions
• TCP/IP, DNS and network troubleshooting
• Network and cyber security principles

Most importantly you'll have a strong troubleshooting mindset, an understanding of how network security technologies interact and an appetite to learn new technologies. You don't need to be a Zscaler expert already. If you understand firewalls, proxies, network security and rule-based access controls you'll have a strong foundation for developing your Zscaler expertise.
