Job Description:

At Food Service Logistics Safety, People, the Environment and Service are at the heart of everything we do. We complete over 5,000 road deliveries per week of chilled and ambient products for a well-known International Coffee brand; driving a culture of safety accountability across our teams. Food Service Logistics are seeking a Safety and Sustainability manager to join our dynamic team to oversee and develop the safety and sustainability strategy.

The Role:

As the Network Safety and Sustainability Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our Health, Safety and Sustainability strategy across our logistics sites. As part of the Leadership Team, you will be responsible to continue the development of our safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, and implement robust health, safety and sustainability policies, systems and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with UK HSE legislation and industry best practices, together with ensuring that company standards are consistently reviewed.
  • Drive continuous improvement in health, safety and sustainability performance across our sites working closely with all levels within the business.
  • Lead and develop training and engagement programmes to embed a strong safety culture at all levels of the business.
  • Utilise technology to deliver "real time" KPIs and sustainability metrics to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with procurement, fleet, warehousing and HR teams to implement sustainable and safe operational practices.
  • Understand and monitor environmental impact, including energy use, waste, emissions, and support our carbon reduction roadmap.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, legal developments and innovations in logistics sustainability.
  • Expand the social responsibility agenda.
  • Leading a team of Safety Managers, being a visible leader and role modelling our standards.

About You:

  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) required; CMIOSH or working toward chartered status preferred.
  • Proven experience in a health and safety leadership role, ideally within the logistics, transport, or supply chain sector.
  • Strong understanding of environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001) and sustainability reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence teams at all levels.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Passionate about making a positive impact on people, the planet, and performance.
