Accenture in Portsmouth is seeking a Network Operations Engineer to plan, design and support LAN/WAN networks. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting of network hardware and software, and active participation in knowledge sharing and incident response.

The successful candidate will contribute to monitoring, optimization, and the delivery of projects within an onsite service centre, including on-call duties and shift coverage.

Qualifications

  • 5 years UK address history required.
  • Experience planning, designing and developing LAN and WAN networks.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting network hardware and software issues.
  • Familiar with network monitoring and optimization techniques.
  • Ability to influence technical plans and provide guidance to others.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Experienced in using ticket management tools and documenting cases.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute in-depth technical activities.
  • Influence the direction of activities and provide technical insight to others.
  • Investigate and help resolve issues on customers' network and IT environment using standardized troubleshooting methods.
  • Manage network support cases to enable fast resolution that exceeds customer expectations.
  • Ensure accurate recording of all cases using the ticketing tool and close them within agreed timeframes.
  • Use the central knowledge repository to share information and enable best practices.
  • Support and take ownership of ad-hoc projects to develop the capabilities of the service centre.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing via emails and how-to guides.
  • Participate in the on-call and shift rota as this is an onsite delivery-based role.

Salary: £50,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:
  • British national only
  • 5 years continuous UK address history at the point of application
  • Experience in planning, designing, and developing LAN and WAN networks
  • Proficient in troubleshooting network hardware and software issues
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and optimization techniques
  • Ability to influence technical plans and provide guidance to others
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Experienced in using ticket management tools and documenting cases
