Job summary

A leading technology-driven organisation in London is seeking a Network Engineer to provide advanced monitoring and troubleshooting support across a hybrid data centre environment. The role focuses on maintaining optimal performance and uptime, resolving incidents efficiently, and implementing network changes. Candidates must possess strong knowledge of routing and switching, troubleshooting skills, and experience in a NOC or data centre environment. This is a hybrid position requiring three days onsite.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of routing & switching at CCNP-level or equivalent.
• Experience in a network monitoring / NOC or data centre environment.
• Hands-on troubleshooting across network infrastructure and services.

Responsibilities

• Monitor infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Layer 2 / Layer 3 network issues.
• Implement network changes including DNS, IP management, firewall rules.

Network Engineer (Data Centre / NOC)
Location: London, UK (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)
Salary: Up to £65k per annum

You’ll provide advanced monitoring, troubleshooting, and implementation support across a data centre environment, bridging the gap between NOC operations and engineering. The focus is on maintaining uptime, resolving incidents efficiently, and supporting continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and uptime
• Troubleshoot and resolve Layer 2 / Layer 3 network issues
• Implement network changes (DNS, IP management, firewall rules)
• Support and maintain enterprise firewalls (Palo Alto / Fortigate)
• Manage incidents independently and elevate where required
• Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing
• Collaborate with internal teams to support a 24/7 environment

Skills & Experience Required

• Strong knowledge of routing & switching (CCNP-level or equivalent)
• Experience in a network monitoring / NOC or data centre environment
• Hands‑on troubleshooting across network infrastructure and services
• Experience with firewalls and network security principles
• Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and IPAM (Infoblox desirable)
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
