Your new company
This multi-academy trust has experienced significant growth over the last few years. Due to this expansion, they are seeking to appoint a Cluster Network Manager to join their IT team on a permanent basis. This is a large trust with future growth plans, making it an exciting opportunity for professional development. You will be based at a secondary school in North Manchester, with responsibilities for three local primary schools, and will be an integral part of the IT team. The team is well-established, led by an IT Director who adopts a positive and proactive approach, fostering collaboration across all schools and teams within the trust.
Your new role
Reporting to the IT Director, you will oversee all IT infrastructure and services across your cluster of schools, including one secondary and three primary schools. You will manage the on-site IT team, which includes two technicians, ensuring efficient IT service delivery to staff and students. Your responsibilities will include hardware, software, bespoke technologies, planning and delivering IT projects, responding to IT requests and issues, and completing monthly operational reviews. You will also manage the IT budget, oversee procurement in collaboration with third parties, and focus on performance management and professional development of your team members.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed, you should have IT management experience, preferably within the education sector, with strong knowledge of educational systems and processes. A passion for IT and a commitment to delivering high-quality service are essential. Experience in team oversight, training, and upskilling junior staff is also required.
