Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer with at least 5 years of experience. The candidate should have a strong understanding of network Layer 2, 3, 4 protocols, wireless protocols, and experience in designing and maintaining network infrastructure. A CCNA certification (or higher) obtained within the last 5 years is required. Knowledge of SD-WAN and SASE is highly desirable. This role is remote with occasional travel, and a full UK driving license is necessary.

The working hours are static, from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM (GMT/BST), Monday to Friday. The role includes participation in an on-call rota (one week in five) for out-of-hours support.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure ensuring high availability and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues across various layers and platforms.
• Support and maintain cloud WAF.
• Perform routine network maintenance, upgrades, and patches.
• Collaborate with IT teams for seamless integration of network services.
• Implement and manage Meraki, Ubiquiti, and SASE solutions.
• Support incident resolution and manage requests efficiently.
• Document network configurations and troubleshooting guides.
• Travel to stations for on-site support when needed.
• Stay updated with emerging networking technologies and trends.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum 5 years in a network engineering role.
• Deep knowledge of Ethernet, IP, TCP/IP, BGP, WPA3, Wi-Fi 6E/7 protocols.
• Current CCNA or equivalent certification (within last 5 years).
• Basic understanding of SD-WAN and SASE.
• Experience with Cisco Meraki hardware.
• Proficiency in configuring routers, switches, firewalls.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work remotely and manage time effectively.
• Full UK driving license and willingness to travel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional certifications like CCNP, JNCIA.
• Experience with cloud networking, automation, security solutions.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools.
