Job summary

MBDA is seeking an experienced Networking and IT Engineer – Proving and Integration (Missiles) in Stevenage. The role focuses on designing, building and validating secure closed networks and trials support equipment for complex missile systems.

You will architect end-to-end connectivity, operate secure trials networks and ensure all subsystems meet stringent performance, interoperability and security requirements.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat).
• Experience with hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• Proven network engineering experience in defence, aerospace or secure environments.
• Experience with firewall configuration, load balancers, Windows servers/desktops, and enterprise services.
• Knowledge of cyber security methodologies.
• Solid understanding of routing, switching, VPNs and network segmentation.

Responsibilities

• Design secure closed networks underpinning product proving, validation and integration.
• Build and configure trials IT equipment across OS and hardware platforms.
• Lead network architecture for proving systems across multi-domain environments.
• Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues across integrated hardware, software and simulators.
• Implement monitoring and fault-recovery strategies for high-assurance test environments.
• Ensure compliance with IM, security and accreditation standards.
• Drive continuous improvement in documentation, processes and proving methodologies.
• Mentor colleagues and grow capability across the function.
