Job summary

Referment, in partnership with a leading tech-driven investment firm, seeks a Network Engineer to join its global Infrastructure team in London. You will design, build and support a critical network that underpins trading platforms and a fast-moving technology estate.

You'll work across project and operational engineering, taking ownership of complex infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, and driving performance improvements. A hands-on, proactive approach is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in Network/Infrastructure Engineering.
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching).
• Hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies in complex environments.
• Scripting or automation experience with Python, PowerShell, Bash or similar.
• Experience supporting Windows and Linux servers in a broader infra team.
• Proactive, hands-on approach with interest in building and improving infra.
• Financial services or trading environment experience is advantageous.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years' experience in Network Engineering or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, and enterprise networking concepts.
• Hands‑on experience with Cisco networking technologies.
• Experience troubleshooting enterprise network infrastructure in a complex environment.
• Scripting or automation experience with Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar.
• Experience supporting Windows and Linux server environments.
• A proactive, hands‑on approach with a genuine interest in building and improving infrastructure.
• Previous experience within financial services, trading, or other high‑availability environments would be advantageous but is not essential.
