You will be the global technical authority for networking, shaping enterprise network strategy, and delivering resilient, high-performance connectivity across regions, data centers, and cloud environments.

The role covers LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, trading and market data connectivity, security, and cloud networking in AWS and Azure.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Enterprise Network Engineering in senior/lead roles.
• Expertise in Routing, Switching, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, QoS, Multicast for market data.
• Experience with WAN technologies including SD-WAN.
• Production-scale cloud networking in AWS and/or Azure with hybrid connectivity.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation and evolution of the global network across regions, data centres and cloud.
• Own network strategy and governance as the Technical Design Authority for networking.
• Oversee trading and market data connectivity (Exchange, Broker, Co-Location links) and cross-connects.
• Provide hands-on leadership with automation (Python/Ansible/Terraform) and ensure high availability and performance.

Job description

Senior Network Engineering Lead and Technical Design Authority sought to join a fast-growing Multi-Strategy Hedge Fund.

You will be the Firm's Global Technical Authority for Networking, responsible for the design, resilience and performance of the Network across multiple regions, Cloud environments and Trading Connectivity. The role defines and drives the Enterprise Network Strategy, working closely with an MSP, acting as the senior escalation point for complex Network issues across a Hybrid, Cloud-First Infrastructure.

Specific responsibilities include leading the design, implementation and evolution of the Global Network: LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN, Data Centre and Cloud Connectivity across all locations. You will also lead design and delivery of connectivity for Trading and Market Data: Exchange, Broker and Co-Location links, Cross-Connects and Market-Data Distribution. As a Senior Techncial Lead, you will own Cloud Networking Design across AWS and/or Azure: VPC/VNet, Transit Gateway, PrivateLink, ExpressRoute / Direct Connect, Route53, peering, hybrid routing and DNS, also exploring and onboarding new AWS and/or Azure Networking Services and features as part of continuous improvement of the Cloud Network platform.

Requirements

• 10+ years in Enterprise Network Engineering, including significant time in a Principal, Lead or Design-Authority capacity.
• Strong expertise in Enterprise Networking Technologies: Routing, Switching, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, QoS and Multicast for Market Data.
• Experience with WAN technologies such as SD-WAN.
• Hands-on knowledge of Data Centre and Campus Network design (e.g. spine-leaf, high-availability architectures).
• Experience with Network Security Principles: Segmentation, Firewalls (Palo Alto essential), VPNs and Zero-Trust concepts.
• Production-scale Cloud Networking in AWS and/or Azure, including Hybrid Connectivity and Network Design with hands-on experience with: VPC, Transit Gateway, PrivateLink, Direct Connect and Route53 (or Azure equivalents).
• Automation and Scripting experience (Python, Ansible, Terraform) applied to real Network Infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of Network Monitoring, Observability and Performance Optimisation tools.
• Proven experience operating Global Network Environments with High-Availability requirements, ideally in Financial Services or another Latency-sensitive, Regulated Environment.
