Job summary

Ashdown Group is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement and support secure Fortinet-driven networks in a hybrid Central London environment.

You will manage FortiGate devices, firewall policies, VPNs, and routing while maintaining security and reliability across LAN/WAN infrastructure. Relevant Fortinet certifications and cloud networking knowledge are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience as a Network Engineer.
• Hands-on experience with Fortinet / FortiGate environments.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing and switching.
• Experience with firewalls, VPNs, NAT and network security.
• Experience troubleshooting complex network issues.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Fortinet NSE / FCP / FCSS certification.
• Experience with FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer.
• Experience with Cisco, Aruba or other enterprise networking technologies.
• Knowledge of cloud networking, particularly Azure or AWS.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, support and maintain secure and resilient network environments, with a particular focus on Fortinet technologies.
• Configure, manage and troubleshoot FortiGate firewalls and Fortinet security solutions.
• Manage firewall policies, NAT, VPNs, routing and security rules.
• Support LAN/WAN, switching, routing and network security infrastructure.
• Monitor network performance, availability and security.
• Investigate and resolve complex network incidents and outages.
• Perform network changes, upgrades and security improvements.
• Assist with network design, documentation and infrastructure projects.Ensure network environments meet security and operational standards.
