The Senior Technical Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure. This includes routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and other related hardware. The Senior Engineer will also troubleshoot network issues and provide technical support to internal staff.

The role is home-based with travel (field) required

What you'll do

• Customer Design:
  • Maintain an expert-level understanding of our technical product functionalities and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing high-level overviews or in-depth technical discussions as needed.
  • Support presales efforts by collaborating with the Presales team, offering technical expertise on-site and remotely to align solutions with customer needs.
  • Test and validate new equipment, technologies, and services to ensure interoperability before deployment.
  • Lead technical design and implementation of connectivity and TV infrastructure, including site surveys, configuration creation, technical documentation, and troubleshooting.
• In-Life Operations:
  • Provide third-line support for complex issues, maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Oversee operational delivery of projects and solutions, ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Manage and maintain edge network infrastructure for optimal performance and reliability.
  • Develop and update technical documentation, configurations, and procedures.
  • Manage configuration and change processes.
  • Maintain relationships with hardware and software vendors, staying aligned with their roadmaps and understanding their impact.

What you'll bring:

• Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
• Extensive experience configuring and deploying Juniper Mist, Ruckus, Cisco, or Cradlepoint WAN/LAN/WLAN products.
• Experience with wireless controllers, switches, access points, and routers.
• Network design experience, including SD-WAN.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Professional certifications such as CWNP, CCNP, JNCIS, or equivalent.
• Expertise in 802.11 wireless technologies and wireless network design using tools like Ekahau is preferred.
• Experience with APIs and scripting (Python, Bash) is advantageous.
• Knowledge of SMATV, IPTV, and Fibre distribution systems is beneficial.
• Full UK Driving Licence required.
