Job summary

Energy Assets Ltd. is seeking a Network Engineer to help maintain and operate our electricity distribution network across the country. You will inspect LV assets, support maintenance, respond to faults, and ensure customers receive a safe, reliable supply.

Most tasks are done independently, with live works performed in two-person teams. Full training, including jointing, is provided to develop your skills for a long-term career in the electricity distribution industry.

Qualifications

  • Practical, safety-focused electricians seeking a long-term career in electricity distribution.
  • Willingness to undergo specialist training including jointing and network switching when authorised.
  • Experience in distribution networks or a qualification as an electrician is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect LV electricity distribution assets, substations and equipment.
  • Carry out routine maintenance and condition assessments.
  • Identify network defects and arrange remedial works.
  • Support fault response and network restoration activities.
  • Undertake LV switching operations after training and authorisation.
  • Install network monitoring equipment.
  • Support commissioning and energisation of new network assets.
  • Produce accurate inspection reports and technical records.
  • Work safely in line with Electricity at Work Regulations and company procedures.

Job description

As a Network Engineer, you'll play a key role in maintaining and operating Energy Assets' electricity distribution network.

Your work will include inspecting network assets, responding to faults, supporting maintenance activities and helping ensure our customers receive a safe and reliable electricity supply.

Most inspection and surveying activities are completed independently. For planned live works, you'll operate as part of a two-person team, typically alongside an experienced Network Engineer or Improver, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.

Full training will be provided, including specialist jointing training where required.

What you'll be doing
  • Inspecting LV electricity distribution assets, substations and associated equipment
  • Carrying out routine maintenance and condition assessments
  • Identifying network defects and arranging remedial works
  • Supporting fault response and network restoration activities
  • Undertaking LV switching operations (following training and authorisation)
  • Installing network monitoring equipment
  • Supporting commissioning and energisation of new network assets
  • Producing accurate inspection reports and technical records
  • Working safely in accordance with Electricity at Work Regulations and company procedures
