Insight in Cambridge seeks a Network Data Platform Engineer to establish NetBox as the authoritative enterprise inventory source. You will model data, automate discovery, ensure data quality, and integrate NetBox with ServiceNow and other enterprise platforms.

Serve as a specialist to establish and maintain NetBox as the authoritative enterprise network data source.
- Ensure accurate, trusted, and governed network inventory through automated discovery, data assurance, and integration with enterprise platforms.
- Review and analyze existing network data sources, quality, and data flows across network management, monitoring, automation, and ITSM platforms.
- Assess and improve NetBox implementation, focusing on data modelling, governance, discovery, assurance, and integrations.
- Develop and enhance NetBox to support enterprise network inventory and lifecycle management.
- Design and implement automated processes for network data discovery and assurance to improve data completeness and integrity.
- Define and maintain data models and enforce network naming conventions, taxonomy standards, and hierarchical structures.
- Establish processes and controls to keep NetBox as the trusted source of network asset, topology, IP addressing, and metadata.
- Design, implement, and enhance integrations between NetBox and network management/assurance platforms (e.g., Cisco Catalyst Centre).
- Develop integrations with enterprise platforms (e.g., ServiceNow) for CMDB population and synchronization.
- Create supporting automation, documentation, and operational processes for data quality and governance.
- Provide knowledge transfer and recommendations for ongoing platform and data ecosystem evolution.
- Enhance network data presentation, reporting, and governance controls.
- Perform network device baselining, configuration validation, and regular data-quality reviews.
- Expand network automation using tools like Python, Ansible, REST APIs, and potentially Terraform.
- Automate network discovery, compliance reporting, auditing, and configuration validation.
- Develop reusable automation workflows, operational runbooks, and controlled implementation processes.
- Implement new features and minimize repetitive manual tasks.
- Define and develop a strategic roadmap toward Network Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
- Propose and monitor service reliability measures (KPIs, SLIs, SLOs).
- Identify and implement opportunities for proactive monitoring, fault prevention, and self-healing automation.
- Collaborate with Operations, Security, Architecture, Platform, and ITSM teams to improve network resilience and reliability.
- Required skills: Strong networking fundamentals, hands-on with NetBox or similar tools, automation (Python, Ansible, REST APIs), monitoring/observability platforms.
- Preferred certifications: Cisco CCNP/CCIE, Juniper JNCIS/JNCIP, AWS Advanced Networking, and relevant NetBox/automation certifications.
- Success measured by improved network inventory accuracy, successful ServiceNow CMDB integration, increased automation, enhanced data governance, and delivery of a Network SRE roadmap.
