Job summary

Elvis Eckardt Recruitment is seeking a Security Engineer (Network & Cyber Security) in Redhill, Surrey. The role is onsite for the first six months, then up to six remote days per month, blending hands-on security with secure infrastructure design across government, defence and maritime environments.

You will lead security ownership, build secure network solutions, manage vulnerabilities, and support incident response while collaborating with engineering teams and customers.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of hands-on network and security experience.
• Experience with Cisco firewalls, routers and switches.
• Practical experience with SIEM tools and IDS/IPS technologies.
• Vulnerability management and penetration testing knowledge.
• Ability to design and implement secure network solutions.
• Incident investigation and forensics capabilities.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001 and GDPR requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain secure network solutions.
• Hands-on work with Cisco firewalls, routers and switches.
• Support SIEM and IDS/IPS implementations.
• Monitor security tools for threats and vulnerabilities.
• Investigate security incidents and support remediation.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activities.
• Review CVEs and recommend remediation.
• Produce security documentation and guidelines.
• Provide third-line support for complex network security issues.
