Job summary

Severn Trent Water is seeking a Network Controller for a 16/7 shift pattern to secure, manage and prioritise waste tanker needs across the business. You will work with waste field teams, deliver first-time solutions, and drive KPI improvements for pollution and flooding.

You will be part of a 24/7 network, coordinating with telemetry technicians and other controllers. A full UK driving licence and strong stakeholder engagement are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience building and developing effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to articulate and interpret technical information and specifications.
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage logistics schedules on a reactive basis and liaise with stakeholders to maximise tanker resource efficiency.
  • Plan and communicate tanker schedules to relevant personnel and departments.
  • Ensure operations are compliant with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, STW teams and other stakeholders.
  • Manage incidents and produce post-incident reports for stakeholders.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Our Network Control team have an opportunity for you to join as our newNetwork Controller 16/7.

The role itself will play a critical part in securing, managing and prioritising waste tanker needs across the Severn Trent business to undertake both planned work to prevent and reduce the impact of floodings and pollutions. Within this role you will build strong working relationships with waste field teams, proactively focusing on their needs by delivering a right first-time solution, implementing initiatives aimed at improving KPI performance on pollutions and flooding.

The job will be working in a team also supported by 24/7 waste network controllers and telemetry technicians.

Some of your other key accountabilities will include:
  • Manage logistic schedules on reactive (unplanned) basis through close liaison with relevant stakeholders to maximise tanker resource efficiency whilst ensuring high levels of customer service.
  • Manage/plan and communicate tanker schedules to relevant personnel / depts.
  • Ensure all operations planned are compliant with all legal requirements & company polices.
  • Proactively manage and enhance both the internal and external relationship with all key parties including contractors, STW teams, COSC, Asset delivery and other supporting departments
  • Manage incidents/events as per STW policy and procedures, ensure the decisions made are communicated through to operations, Internal Customers, Contractors and other stakeholders.
  • Produce post incident reports and present them to the relevant stakeholders.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

We’re seeking our new Network Controller to be comfortableusing Microsoft Office and SAP systems as well as having the ability to articulate and interpret technical information and specifications. It is essential that you have experience of building and developing effective relationships with stakeholders. You must also hold a full UK driving licence.

16/7 working shift pattern is a 5 week pattern containing the below shift times. This includes weekend work along with bank holidays. There is a flex week that will require 7 day working week on 1 of the weeks. The Flex week can be changed to cover any critical shifts where it is required. Standby is also within the PM shifts on a alternate pattern with your shift partner.

AM: 06:00 – 14:00

PM: 13:30 – 21:30

Days: 08:00 – 15:30

Flex: 07:30 – 15:30
