Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking an Environmental Sustainability Manager to lead the Net Zero strategy and deliver environmental programmes across the business. You will collaborate with internal teams, customers and suppliers to reduce our footprint and help customers lower emissions through responsible equipment hire.

The role emphasizes tracking metrics, developing carbon reduction initiatives and maintaining ISO 50001 while supporting a sustainable supply chain. National travel is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Sustainability or related field.
• Knowledge of carbon reporting.
• Ability to work independently on own initiative.
• Represent the business at customer forums and industry bodies.
• Work effectively as part of a wider team.
• Strong communication skills at all levels.
• Methodical approach with attention to detail.
• Proficient with AI and digital tools for reporting and insight.

Responsibilities

• Support the UK & Europe Net Zero Strategy and initiatives.
• Track and report on metrics to demonstrate progress internally and externally.
• Identify and implement carbon reduction strategies with Transportation, Fleet, Facilities, Asset, and Procurement teams.
• Maintain ISO 50001 accreditation and ESOS compliance.
• Develop communication plans for Net Zero engaging staff, suppliers and customers.
• Represent Sunbelt Rentals at industry forums and customer events.
• Stay updated on industry innovations, legislation and best practice.
