Avanti Recruitment Limited is supporting a Rotherham-based business in recruiting an experienced Web Developer / .NET MVC Developer to join the in-house development team. The role requires you in the office 3 days per week and involves hands-on work across the full application lifecycle.

You'll tackle legacy .NET Framework MVC projects as well as newer .NET work, focusing on designing and building web interfaces, integrating systems, and collaborating with project managers to capture

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft web technologies.
• Genuine ASP.NET MVC experience with traditional .NET Framework MVC.
• Experience with web interfaces and browser-facing development.
• Familiarity with both legacy MVC and modern .NET is valuable.

Avanti Recruitment is working with a business in Rotherham that is looking for an experienced Web Developer / .NET MVC Developer to join its in‑house development team. This role will require you in the office 3 days per week.

The company has a substantial ASP.NET MVC application estate, with roughly 75% of the current work focused on MVC. The majority of this is legacy .NET Framework 4.8 MVC, alongside newer modern .NET projects as the business gradually modernises its systems.

This role is therefore particularly suited to someone who is comfortable working hands‑on with traditional .NET Framework MVC applications, rather than someone whose recent experience has mainly focused on APIs, Microservices or separate React/Angular frontends. Experience across both legacy MVC and modern .NET would be particularly valuable.

The Role

You will be involved throughout the application lifecycle, including design, development, testing, implementation and ongoing support.

Responsibilities:

• Designing and developing web-based applications


• Building web interfaces for new and existing business systems

• Developing and supporting communication and integration layers


• Working with internal users and project managers to capture requirements


• Testing applications and resolving coding issues


• Considering application performance and browser compatibility


• Supporting existing applications while contributing to the move towards modern .NET


• Working within an Agile development environment

What We Are Looking For

Strong hands‑on experience of Microsoft web technologies. The key requirement is genuine ASP.NET MVC experience, particularly working with traditional .NET Framework MVC applications and the browser-facing side of web development.

You should be comfortable working across Models, Views and Controllers, maintaining and improving existing applications as well as contributing to newer development work.

Strong communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively and confidence using your own initiative are also important.

Salary £35k - £50k (DOE) + Benefits.
