Job summary

Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly specialist Band 7 Physiotherapist to join its expanding Neonatal Allied Health Professional Team. This newly created permanent role offers the chance to shape and develop a service supporting babies and families during critical early development.

Qualifications

Current HCPC registration.
BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy degree.
Postgraduate qualifications or CPD in neurodevelopment including HEE Neonatal Neonatal Foundation Modules.
IT literacy.
Member of CSP.
Member of APCP or Paediatric SIG.
Experience using PACS and Clinical Whiteboard.
Masters level or equivalent CPD/education/experience.

Responsibilities

To have a high level of understanding of the effect of prematurity, congenital conditions and difficulties at birth on both the individual and family unit.
To work as an autonomous practitioner and be professionally and legally responsible for all aspects of your own work, including patient management.
Using highly specialist knowledge, assess and determine diagnosis of conditions in high-risk infants.
Design and implement an individualised development programme for infants identified with developmental difficulties.
Provide high quality physiotherapy using advanced knowledge and skills.
Demonstrate ability to assess family understanding and obtain valid consent within legal frameworks.
Active role in Neurodevelopmental Review clinic with Neonatology.
Provide teaching and guidance to relatives, carers and professionals.
Be a specialist source of expertise in neonatal musculoskeletal and neurological management.
Represent the trust externally regarding neonatal physiotherapy services.
