Job summary

Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled neonatal physiotherapist to work in paediatric/neonatal services. The role involves autonomous practice, advanced assessment, and delivery of evidence-based physiotherapy for high risk infants.

You will lead complex patient care, support families, and mentor junior staff within the neonatal team. Eligibility includes HCPC registration and postgraduate CPD in neonatal neurodevelopment.

Qualifications

• Essential: HCPC registered physiotherapist with BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy.
• Essential: postgraduate CPD in neurodevelopment or Neonatal Physiotherapy Foundation Modules.
• Essential: extensive post-qualification experience in paediatric/neonatal physiotherapy, especially neurology and neurodevelopment.

Responsibilities

• Assess neonatal patients using advanced neurodevelopmental knowledge.
• Lead on neuromuscular assessments and design individualised care plans.
• Work with families to explain treatment options and gain informed consent.
• Provide specialist teaching and supervision to junior staff and students.
• Represent the trust in regional neonatal physiotherapy initiatives.
