Job summary

Elevate Projects Ltd. seeks a Neighbourhood Response Officer to deliver safe, attractive neighbourhoods in Basildon and surrounding Essex. The role involves regular estate inspections, tenancy support, and coordinating with safeguarding, police, and social services to promote resident wellbeing.

You will run local neighbourhood plans, engage residents, and work with partners to deliver community facilities, events, and safety initiatives in a resident-facing, onsite capacity.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver neighbourhood plans and local offers for residents.
• Conduct regular estate inspections with focus on safety follow-up work.
• Collaborate with residents groups to develop facilities and events.
• Coordinate with safer neighbourhood teams, voluntary sector and youth services on safety issues.
• Visit customers in tenancy breach cases and assess ongoing support needs.
• Assist with tenancy sign-ups, inspections, and assignments.
• Attend court and provide statements as required.
• Carry out evictions and attend stay hearings as needed.
• Perform property condition checks for mutual exchanges or visits.
• Support major incidents and decanting of tenants.

Job Title: Neighbourhood Response Officer - Interim

Location: Basildon and wider Essex areas

Rate: £19.13 per hour (PAYE) / £23.00 per hour (Umbrella)

Contract Type: Interim

Working Pattern: Resident-facing, onsite daily

About the Role:

We are seeking a confident, customer-focused Neighbourhood Response Officer to help deliver safe, secure, and attractive neighbourhoods with vibrant, diverse, and stable communities where people want to live.

You will deliver regular estate inspections, identifying and reporting issues and making improvements, and design and deliver neighbourhood projects and activities with individuals, communities, and stakeholders. You will also support residents to manage their tenancies, including sign-ups, welfare checks, and investigations of anti-social behaviour and tenancy breaches. Working closely with safeguarding teams, social services, mental health teams, and the police, you will support the health and wellbeing of residents and the wider neighbourhood.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver neighbourhood plans and local offers.
• Deliver a programme of regular estate inspections, prioritising fire safety risk assessment follow-up work.
• Work with local residents' groups to develop community facilities, activities, and events.
• Work collaboratively with local partners such as safer neighbourhood teams, the voluntary sector, and youth services on neighbourhood safety and ASB issues.
• Visit customers in breach of their tenancy or lease agreement where tasked to do so.
• Visit customers who may require additional support and assess whether they need ongoing tenancy sustainment.
• Conduct viewings, sign-ups, and tenancy assignments.
• Attend court to represent the organisation and/or provide witness statements as required.
• Conduct evictions and attend stay hearings.
• Carry out property condition checks for mutual exchanges, notice periods, or planned visits.
• Assist with major incidents and the decanting of tenants.
