Job summary

NHS Surrey and Sussex ICB is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for Neighbourhoods (Sussex) to join the Medicines Optimisation Team. The role focuses on delivering safe, high‑quality pharmaceutical services aligned with national and local priorities.

You will provide enhanced medicines optimisation support to practices, participate in improvement projects, and promote cost-effective prescribing with support tools like OptimiseRx, contributing to population health outcomes.

Qualifications

BTEC / City & Guilds in Pharmaceutical Science / NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent.
Registered pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
Knowledge of administrative procedures, project management or information analysis.
Experience in the public sector in a similar role.

Responsibilities

Ensure delivery of a legal, safe, high quality pharmaceutical service reflecting national/local policy.
Provide enhanced medicines optimisation support to identified practices/PCNs/Neighbourhoods.
Support delivery of medicines optimisation improvement plans via audits and projects.
Promote clinical and cost-effective prescribing using decision support tools like OptimiseRx.
Assist medicines optimisation team with data analysis and project support.
