Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd is partnering with a local authority to recruit an experienced Neighbourhood Officer for a patch stretching from Clitheroe to Preston in Greater Manchester. The role is the main contact for residents, managing tenancies and the quality of life across estates.

You will spend most of your time on patch visits, with one office day and one home-based day for casework and record-keeping. A strong communicator with good judgement will fit well.

Qualifications

• Experience in neighbourhood or housing management is essential.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage with residents.
• Ability to work independently across a wide area and balance enforcement with support.

Responsibilities

• Manage a patch of properties and estates from Clitheroe to Preston, acting as the main contact for residents
• Carry out regular estate inspections and follow up on any issues identified
• Investigate and resolve reports of anti-social behaviour, neighbour disputes and tenancy breaches
• Manage tenancy matters, including tenancy audits, property visits and suspected abandonment or sub-letting
• Work with the police, local authority teams, safeguarding services and other partners on shared cases
• Support residents who may be vulnerable by signposting them to appropriate help
• Report repairs, health and safety concerns and environmental issues on the patch

About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Neighbourhood Officer to manage a patch stretching from Clitheroe to Preston. The role is the main point of contact for residents in the area, looking after tenancies, the condition of local estates and the quality of life of the communities within them.

Most of your week will be spent out on patch. You will visit properties and estates, speak to residents, deal with neighbourhood concerns and work with partners such as the police, local authority teams and support services. One day a week is office-based, giving you time to work with colleagues and plan your caseload, and one day is spent working from home to complete casework and records.

The role suits a neighbourhood or housing professional who is confident working independently across a wide area and enjoys being visible in the community. Good judgement, strong communication skills and the ability to balance enforcement with support will help you build trust with residents and keep your patch running well.
