Job summary

Bolton Council is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join the Neighbourhood Services Team to support street cleansing and grounds maintenance across Bolton. You will work with Environmental Enforcement Officers on a range of duties including shrub and flower bed care, weed control, and chemical application.

Experience with mechanical machinery/tools related to grounds maintenance is preferred. A full driving licence is essential, and there is a permanent contract with 37 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Grounds maintenance duties: shrub and flower bed maintenance, strimming and edging of grassed areas, weed control and chemical application.
• Winter gritting and manual snow and leaf clearance.
• Removal of debris from accidents on the highway and removal of dead animals.
• Street cleansing duties: litter picking on highways, open spaces and shrubbed areas; graffiti and fly posting removal.
