Job description

The City of Doncaster Council is a confident, ambitious organisation committed to improving the lives of its residents. We invite you to join us as a Neighbourhood Coordinator.

The post holder will lead and inspire a team of locality-based staff across various geographic locations. They will coordinate all-age services in community engagement, capacity building, community cohesion, diversionary and community safety activities, as well as local and national programmes such as Well Being, Early Intervention and Prevention, Community Led Support, Veteran Support, and Stronger Families. Additionally, the post holder will play a significant role in supporting Ward Members in their community leadership roles.

Essential skills, knowledge, and experience include:

  • Significant knowledge of anti-social behaviour/community safety legislation and experience with relevant tools and powers.
  • Experience working with various partners, adopting a proactive problem-solving approach to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Experience in developing strong, resilient communities through innovative asset-based community development skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, engagement, negotiation skills, and a solution-focused approach.
  • Knowledge of national and local legislation, policies, and programmes related to the service, such as Supporting Families, Crime and Policing Act, Community Led Support, and Wellbeing.
