Job summary

AM Global is recruiting an experienced NDT Technician in Hartlepool to deliver non-destructive testing on steel pipes in accordance with ISO 9712 standards and contract obligations. You will work under the Section Manager, NDT (Operations), supporting major energy clients worldwide.

Ideally, you hold ISO 9712 Level II (PCN/CSWIP) with radiography or ultrasonics plus another NDT discipline. The role involves calibration of equipment, documentation, and generating inspection certificates on site.

Qualifications

• Qualified to international standards and perform inspection and testing to meet customer requirements.
• Minimum NDT Level II ISO 9712 (PCN/CSWIP).
• Candidates with radiography or ultrasonics and another NDT discipline will be considered; CSWIP Weld inspection qualifications are also acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Perform NDT testing of steel pipes per ISO 9712 and customer specifications.
• Apply ultrasonics, radiography and magnetic particle inspection, including visual and dimensional inspection.
• Calibrate and maintain NDT equipment and carry out documentation/data entry.
• Generate inspection certificates and liaise with client inspection teams.

We are looking to recruit an experienced NDT Technician based at Hartlepool and reporting to the Section Manager, NDT (Operations). The primary purpose of this role is to deliver Non-Destructive Testing services by conducting inspection and testing of steel pipes in accordance with our procedures and industry standards (ISO 9712) to meet our contractual obligations in line with customer expectations.

Key duties include:

• Ability to apply multiple scientific principles to identify sub surface flaws or repetitive indications in steel pipes.
• Aspects of non-destructive testing including ultrasonics, radiography and magnetic particle inspection, including visual and dimensional inspection.
• Use of materials, equipment, tools, processes and products relating to NDT.
• Perform calibration checks & periodic maintenance on NDT equipment.
• Complete relevant documentation / computer data entry / ad-hoc reports as required.
• Generate Inspection certification.
• Liaise with client inspection teams.

Qualifications / Experience:

Working alongside the production team you will be qualified to international standards and will ensure that the product meets our customers' requirements by performing agreed inspection and testing processes.

The jobholder should be qualified to a minimum NDT level II in accordance with ISO 9712 (PCN / CSWIP).

Applicants qualified primarily in radiography or ultrasonics with at least one other NDT inspection discipline (MPI / Dye Pen) will also be considered, as will applicants with CSWIP Weld inspection qualifications
