Job summary

TWI Ltd is seeking a Deputy Technical Manager to support a new Inspection Qualification Services unit in Middlesbrough. You will provide Level 3 expertise, ensure ISO 17020 compliance and balance technical integrity with customer needs in a regulated environment.

The role involves travel within the UK and overseas, and a hybrid work pattern with three days in office/sites and the rest at home. Applicants should have strong NDT credentials and delivery experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum two NDT Level 3 certifications (ISO 9712) such as CSWIP/PCN.
• Ultrasonic techniques (UT) required; eddy current desirable.
• Strong knowledge of NDT in regulated industries.
• Experience in nuclear, defence or high-integrity sectors.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership as Level 3 authority across qualification activities.
• Ensure ISO 17020 compliance, independence and impartiality.
• Support Technical Manager and oversee technical delivery and governance.
• Contribute to business development and technical proposals.
