Job summary

TWI Ltd. seeks a Deputy Technical Manager for its Middlesbrough-based Inspection Qualification Services unit. You will provide Level 3 expertise to qualify NDT procedures, personnel and equipment, ensuring ISO 17020 compliance and technical integrity in regulated sectors, including nuclear and defence.

The role involves supporting the Technical Manager, contributing to business development, and operating in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two NDT Level 3 certifications in accordance with ISO 9712 (e.g. CSWIP or PCN).
• Strong technical knowledge of NDT and its application within regulated industries.
• Experience in nuclear, defence, or other high-integrity sectors.
• Experience delivering complex technical projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and support to qualification activities across the team.
• Apply Level 3 knowledge to ensure technical validity and compliance of inspection processes.
• Support ISO 17020 compliance including independence and impartiality.
• Assist in business development and technical input to proposals.
