Job summary

Chess Dynamics Ltd in Plymouth is seeking a Systems Engineer to contribute to the development, integration and testing of high‑performance targeting and surveillance systems for naval platforms. You will ensure coherence across mechanical, electrical and software domains to meet customer needs and deliver on complex project requirements.

You will take a lead role in risk, cost and schedule management, perform system installation inspections, commissioning and acceptance activities, and

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or physical sciences.
• 1 to 3 years engineering experience, with Maritime/Naval Platforms desirable.
• Strong understanding of Systems engineering principles, INCOSE knowledge desirable.
• Multi-disciplinary knowledge across mechanical, electrical and software; broad understanding required.
• Proven communication skills.
• Proficient in report writing.

Responsibilities

• Requirements capture and management.
• Functional and physical systems architecture design and definition.
• Functional, detailed design and safety analysis.
• Development of Engineering Management Plans (Safety, Test Integration & Acceptance, Technical Risk Management).
• Gathering verification evidence for System Requirements.
• Writing test specifications.
• Conducting design reviews.
• Environmental qualification plans (EMC, Temperature, Shock & Vibration).
• Technical report writing.
