Job summary

Aerospace and defence industry specialist Aeropeople Limited is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a Glasgow-based, on‑site role. The position involves leading manufacturing engineering activities, influencing design for manufacture, and delivering optimized processes across naval shipbuilding environments.

You will drive continuous improvement, manage facilities investments, and coordinate cross-functional teams to meet safety, quality, cost and delivery targets throughout the product

Qualifications

  • Experience in Manufacturing/Process/Method Planning or related engineering fields.
  • Ability to interpret requirements and engineering models and outputs.
  • Root cause analysis using recognised techniques.
  • Understanding cost, quality and schedule drivers and their interactions.
  • Project and task management skills coordinating and delivering activities.

Responsibilities

  • Influence, collaborate and coordinate Manufacturing Engineering activities, creating the future legacy for Shipbuilding on the Clyde and in our customer and partner facilities.
  • Lead, develop and motivate assigned team members through good open and honest communications.
  • Create, Define & Approve Facilities, Equipment, Tooling, Processes Manufacturing Instructions, Policies, Process Instructions, where appropriate, confirm and approve team member work.
  • Understand and Influence Product Design to define optimised products to meet operational capabilities
  • Create and support benefit cases for funded improvement and manages the facility investment project from concept to commissioning.
  • Observe, collate, document data and use analysis tools to trend/make recommendations.
  • Agree, prioritise, schedule and plan activities to meet Project/ Programme Requirements
