Job summary

National Armaments Director Group seeks a Naval Overseer – Capability Insertion Engineering Manager to provide on-site technical oversight of shipbuilding and trials for the Royal Navy’s Type 31 programme at the Rosyth shipyard. You will manage design changes, ensure contractual and quality standards are met, and work with industry partners to drive safe, timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering engineering change outcomes in a maritime environment.
• Proven ability to manage change and provide technical advice on complex systems.
• Ability to operate as a local technical authority and to interact with industry partners.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Design Change Management Process and update change documentation.
• Provide professional engineering oversight of ship construction and trials in shipyard.
• Ensure continuous oversight of CIP changes to avoid integration issues.
• Lead acceptance and assurance activities with inspections, tests, and readiness events.
• Build relationships with industry partners, ship staff and MOD stakeholders to manage risks.
• Promote safe, compliant and professional working practices in shipyard environments.
• Develop, review and agree test forms with contractors and equipment providers.
• Review CIP design documentation and manage integration and acceptance of equipment onboard.
