Job summary

Babcock at Rosyth is seeking a Shipbuilding Operations Strategy Lead to drive delivery across the Type 31 Programme, shaping core construction activities and influencing productivity, quality and safety.

You will oversee Build, Commissioning and Quality Control, lead multi‑discipline teams, and push continuous improvement within a high‑profile defence engineering initiative affecting national security and career growth.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering complex shipbuilding or major marine programmes.
• Strong project management, controls, and budgeting abilities.
• Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors.
• Experience driving change across complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead Build, Commissioning, and Quality Control within Core Delivery Stream.
• Drive productivity improvements and safety/quality culture across the Type 31 Programme.
• Manage the Delivery organisation to align with schedules, milestones, and programme priorities.
• Build strong relationships with internal engineering, planning, quality and production teams to enable seamless project delivery.
• Promote continuous improvement and new ways of working.
