Qualifications

  • Qualified to degree level in Naval Architecture or Marine Technology/Ship Science.
  • Experience with ANSYS Workbench for structural analysis is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with PARAMARINE and CAD tools (AutoCAD, Inventor) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct structural analyses using ANSYS Finite Element Analysis software and theoretical methods.
  • Conduct stability analyses using PARAMARINE software.
  • Participate in inclining experiments and post-experiment analysis.
  • Design ship modifications and capability upgrades.
  • Undertake technical analysis for drydocking of ships.
  • Lend expertise to through-life maintenance and support of ships.
  • Consult on naval base facilities requiring naval architecture knowledge.
  • Participate in concept upgrade design, detailed design, build support, and in-service support.
