Job summary

Manpower is seeking a Naval Architect for a Portsmouth-based role with hybrid working. You will join the Naval Architecture team to deliver structural and stability analyses, ship modifications, and support for drydocking and through‑life maintenance of Royal Navy platforms.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Naval Architecture or related field and has experience with ANSYS Workbench and PARAMARINE; CAD tools such as AutoCAD or Inventor are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Degree required in Naval Architecture /Marine Technology / Ship Science.
• Experience with ANSYS Workbench is advantageous.
• Familiarity with PARAMARINE is advantageous.
• CAD software such as AutoCAD or Inventor is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structural analyses using ANSYS Finite Element Analysis software.
• Conduct stability analyses using PARAMARINE naval architecture software.
• Assist with inclining experiments and post‑experiment analysis.
• Design ship modifications and capability upgrades.
• Perform technical analyses for drydocking of ships.
• Support through‑life maintenance and naval base facilities.
