Job summary

Manpower UK is seeking a Naval Architect for Portsmouth, working in a hybrid role to support the Royal Navy's surface fleet. You will conduct structural and stability analyses and contribute to ship modifications and dry‑docking projects.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in Naval Architecture/Marine Technology, with experience in ANSYS Workbench and PARAMARINE being advantageous. CAD skills (AutoCAD/InVentor) are helpful. Domestic candidates welcome.

Qualifications

• Degree level in Naval Architecture or related marine discipline is essential.
• Experience with ANSYS Workbench is advantageous.
• Familiarity with PARAMARINE is advantageous.
• Experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD or Inventor is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structural analyses using ANSYS Finite Element Analysis software.
• Perform stability analyses using PARAMARINE software.
• Assist with inclining experiments and post‑test analysis.
• Design ship modifications and capability upgrades.
• Support dry-docking analyses and through‑life maintenance for ships.
• Provide naval architecture expertise to base facilities and projects.
