Take the Lead in Marine Design

Are you an experienced Naval Architect looking for the opportunity to work on real-world vessel projects and play a key role in taking designs from concept through to production?

We're working with an established organisation within the marine sector that is looking to strengthen its engineering team with an experienced Naval Architect.

You'll be involved across the design and development of vessels, working on technical drawings, 3D modelling, structural design and engineering solutions, while working closely with production teams to ensure designs are practical, achievable and fit for purpose.

The Role

You’ll play an important role in supporting the design and development of marine vessels, working alongside engineering, production and project teams.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Designing and developing marine vessels and systems
  • Producing detailed technical drawings and engineering documentation
  • Creating and developing 3D CAD models
  • Supporting structural design and engineering activities
  • Reviewing designs for practicality, performance and manufacturability
  • Working closely with production teams to resolve technical issues
  • Managing design changes and modifications
  • Providing technical engineering support throughout vessel builds
  • Working collaboratively with project and engineering teams
  • Supporting projects from initial design through to completion
  • Ensuring designs meet required technical and engineering standards
Why This Role?

This is more than a purely desk‑based design position.

You’ll have the opportunity to see your designs move from the screen onto the vessel, working closely with the production team and gaining genuine insight into how engineering decisions translate into real-world vessel construction.

You’ll benefit from:
  • Real marine projects and the opportunity to work on vessel design and development
  • A varied role covering design, modelling and structural engineering
  • Direct exposure to the production and build process
  • The opportunity to work alongside experienced marine professionals
  • A practical environment where engineering solutions are put into action
  • The chance to take ownership and develop your technical expertise
  • A long‑term opportunity within an established marine organisation
What We're Looking For

We’re keen to hear from experienced Naval Architects or Marine Engineers with a strong understanding of vessel design and construction.

You’ll ideally have:
  • A degree or relevant qualification in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or a related discipline
  • Previous experience within naval architecture or marine engineering
  • Strong knowledge of vessel design and marine engineering principles
  • Experience producing technical drawings and working with 3D CAD
  • Knowledge of structural design and vessel construction
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A practical approach to engineering and design
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ready for Your Next Marine Engineering Challenge?

If you’re an experienced Naval Architect looking for the opportunity to work on genuine vessel projects, develop your technical expertise and see your designs become reality, this could be an excellent next step.

You’ll join a specialist marine environment where your knowledge and experience will have a direct impact on the design and successful construction of vessels
