Job description

Make Your Engineering Expertise Part of Something Bigger

Are you a Project Engineer looking for the opportunity to work on technically challenging marine vessel projects where your engineering expertise can make a real difference?

We’re working with an established organisation operating within the marine sector, and we’re looking for a Project Engineer to provide hands‑on technical support throughout the vessel build process.

This is a varied role where you’ll be involved from specification and integration through to installation, testing and commissioning, ensuring marine systems and equipment are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required technical standards.

The Opportunity

As Project Engineer, you’ll work closely with engineering, production, suppliers and project teams to ensure technical requirements are understood and successfully delivered.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing hands‑on engineering support across vessel build projects
  • Supporting the specification and selection of marine systems and equipment
  • Ensuring equipment and systems are correctly integrated into vessel designs
  • Working with internal teams, suppliers and contractors to resolve technical issues
  • Supporting installation and ensuring work meets relevant specifications and standards
  • Assisting with testing, troubleshooting and commissioning activities
  • Reviewing technical documentation, drawings and specifications
  • Identifying and resolving engineering challenges throughout the build
  • Supporting projects through to successful completion and handover
  • Maintaining a strong focus on quality, safety, compliance and project deadlines
What We’re Looking For

We’re keen to hear from engineers with experience in a marine, shipbuilding, offshore, defence or similarly complex engineering environment.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a Project Engineer or similar engineering role
  • Strong technical engineering knowledge
  • Experience working with complex systems, equipment or installations
  • The ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • A practical, hands‑on approach to engineering
  • The ability to work effectively across multiple teams and project stages
Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is more than a desk‑based engineering position. You’ll have the opportunity to be close to the build, seeing your engineering decisions translate into real‑world vessel systems and installations.

You’ll gain exposure to a broad range of project stages, work alongside experienced technical and production teams, and tackle engineering challenges that require both technical knowledge and practical thinking.

  • Work on exciting and technically diverse marine vessel projects
  • Hands‑on involvement from specification through to commissioning
  • Exposure to complete vessel build and integration processes
  • Collaborate with experienced engineering and project teams
  • Opportunity to develop your technical and project management experience
  • Varied work with genuine engineering challenges to solve
  • Build a career within a specialist and growing marine environment

If you’re a technically minded engineer who enjoys solving problems, working collaboratively and seeing projects progress from concept through to a completed vessel, this is an opportunity worth exploring
