Job summary

Carnell Support Services is seeking an experienced HGV Operative to join the Technology & Infrastructure team. This nationwide role involves travel across the UK, staying away from home, and occasional night and weekend work.

You will drive HGV vehicles, transport materials, support on-site duties, and maintain vehicle records. Essentials include a valid HGV Class 1 licence, Driver CPC, and CSCS Labourer Card, plus experience in construction or highways environments.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 1 (Cat C+E) licence is required.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• CSCS Labourer Card (minimum requirement).
• Experience operating HGV vehicles in construction/highways/civil engineering environments.
• Willingness to travel and stay away from home as required.
• Highways or National Highways experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate HGV vehicles in a safe and compliant manner.
• Transport plant, materials, equipment and site resources to and from project locations.
• Assist with on-site labouring and general operative duties when required.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and maintain accurate records.
• Load and unload materials safely.
• Follow site health, safety and environmental procedures.
• Support the delivery of highway and infrastructure projects across the UK.
