Job summary

TipTopJob is seeking an experienced 18T HGV Driver for work on a customer contract in the South East. The role focuses on cargo care and efficient multi-drop operations with no nights out.

Expect 11-hour days starting at 5–6am, Monday to Friday, with some days 9–10 hours and overtime after 11 hours. London driving is part of the routine, and prior CPC/ADR training is valued.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate safe driving practices and adherence to health and safety standards.
• Knowledge of digital tachographs and compliance with tachograph regulations.
• CPC card up-to-date and valid.
• Strong awareness of road safety and cargo handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Secure all pallets and ensure tachograph and vehicle checks are legal daily.
• This logistics role operates 11-hour days with 5/6am starts, Monday to Friday, with no nights out.
• Some days may be 9–10 hours; overtime paid if over 11 hours.
• A typical Class 2 multi-drop driver will complete ~6–8 deliveries per day and work around 10–11 hours.
• Communication is key for routing and load positioning to minimise disruption.

About The Role

• This 18T HGV Driver role involves working directly for our customer, on contract.
• Our customer will be your point of contact for all operational work; however, we will be your point of contact should you have any issues with the truck or what the customer is asking of you.
• We are looking for experienced drivers ONLY .
• This is not a fast paced role, it is more about the care of the cargo and less deliveries.
• These HGV roles are independent and are ideal for drivers that like to think for themselves.
• London driving will be a part of this job.

Outline Of The Work

• You must ensure that you secure all pallets, and your tachograph and vehicle checks are legal each and every day.
• This logistics role is based on 11:hour days with 5/6am starts, Mon:Fri with no nights out.
• Some days you may work 9:10 hours, obviously this is to your benefit, however if you work over 11 hours you get paid overtime.
• A typical Class 2 multi:drop driver will complete approximately 6:8 deliveries per day and work around 10:11 hours per day on average.
• Communication is key for this role, preparation of routing and load positioning is essential to achieving the workload with minimal disruption.

This 18T HGV Driver role involves palletised transport work of the same products each day, uniform cargo, doing multiple deliveries per day to commercial premises across the South East. Each morning, you'll be expected to put your card in, do your walk:round checks, go to the office to get your consignments for the day, check your load, secure it as necessary, and commence driving: calling ahead to your first customer to advise an ETA where possible.
