Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Daventry is seeking a National Transport Manager for a 6-month Fixed term contract/secondment to lead transport operations across Daventry and UK outbases.

You will drive compliance, cost efficiency and KPI delivery, manage multi-site teams, present to senior leadership up to VP level, and collaborate with DHL leadership and the customer to optimise national transport performance.

Qualifications

• International CPC Holder is essential.
• Experience of managing an O Licence operation.
• Transport management experience in a fast-paced retail setting.
• Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience leading and developing teams in transport.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for senior stakeholders.
• Strong commercial awareness balancing service, compliance and cost.

Responsibilities

• Oversee transport operation across Daventry and UK outbases.
• Deliver legally compliant, high-quality and cost-efficient service.
• Plan, coordinate, supervise, review and report on transport activities.
• Balance workload and resources across two depots 24/7.
• Present cost and performance reviews to DHL senior leadership and customer.
• Ensure compliance with Working Time Directive, legislation and safety.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and satisfaction.
