Job summary

MacGregor Black is assisting a Retail Business in London to recruit a Commercial Estates Manager. The role oversees a national property portfolio, leads lease negotiations, renewals, rent reviews, and capital projects across retail and residential properties.

The ideal candidate has senior property management experience, strong knowledge of commercial and residential law, and excellent negotiation and budgeting skills. RICS qualification is desirable, Chartered surveyor status is a plus.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in estates or property management at a senior level, preferably in a retail-led environment.
• Strong understanding of commercial and residential property law, leases, planning, and asset management.
• Excellent negotiation, budgeting, and project management skills.
• RICS qualification or equivalent is desirable.
• Would suit a chartered surveyor but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the strategic and operational management of a diverse national property portfolio.
• Lead on property acquisitions, disposals, lease negotiations, renewals, and rent reviews.
• Manage capital investment programmes, refurbishments, and maintenance planning across retail and residential properties.
• Ensure full compliance with all relevant property legislation, health and safety, and sustainability requirements.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with landlords, agents, local authorities, and internal stakeholders.
• Lead a small in-house team and manage third-party consultants and contractors.
