Job summary

Compass Community Limited in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Speech and Language Therapist to provide clinical leadership, professional oversight and strategic direction for Speech and Language Therapy across Compass Community Schools. You will shape clinical standards and champion trauma-informed, evidence-based practice, guiding SLTs and school teams to improve communication and outcomes. Travel across the network is expected.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration and RCSLT membership are required.
• Significant experience in specialist education and/or therapeutic services.
• Experience supervising and managing Speech and Language Therapists.
• Experience in clinical leadership and service development.
• Commitment to evidence-informed, trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership across Compass Community Schools.
• Lead development of clinical standards, pathways and quality assurance.
• Coordinate national training and workforce development for SLT staff.
• Lead recruitment, induction, appraisal and performance development.
• Shape and implement a national Speech and Language Therapy Champion programme.
