Job summary

RNLI in the UK is seeking a National Communications Lead to steer the organisation's across-channel communications strategy, supporting lifeboat and fundraising initiatives.

You will lead on major campaigns, manage media relations and measure impact, while working in a hybrid role with occasional travel across the UK and Ireland to support communications activity.

The role requires writing, storytelling, and building senior stakeholder relationships to protect and enhance RNLI’s reputation.

Qualifications

• Experience in busy media environment and communications best practice (media relations, pitching, social media, content creation/adaption).
• Ability to deliver joined-up, integrated communications across channels and tailor content to audiences.
• Proven media relations skills and ability to build relationships across stakeholders.
• Ability to measure and analyse the impact of communications against objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of communications activity to support RNLI projects and initiatives across channels.
• Protect the charity’s reputation and support fundraising and safety campaigns.
• Develop relationships with national media and third/consumer sectors; influence senior leaders.
• Travel across the UK/Ireland as needed to facilitate activities and attend meetings.
