Job description

Job Title: Music Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to inspire and educate students in a vibrant and creative learning environment. This position begins in September 2025.

Responsibilities:

1. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging music lessons for various year groups (KS3, KS4, and potentially KS5).
2. Teach music theory, composition, performance, and appreciation in an accessible manner.
3. Lead individual and group lessons, including singing, instrumental tuition, and ensemble activities.
4. Organise and direct performances, concerts, and extracurricular music events.
5. Collaborate with other teachers to integrate music into the wider curriculum.
6. Foster a creative and inclusive environment that encourages musical expression.
7. Support students' development for examinations, auditions, and performances.
8. Assess student progress, provide feedback, and set development targets.
9. Encourage participation in music clubs, choirs, and related activities.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Music or a related field.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching music in a school setting.
• Strong knowledge of music theory, instruments, and genres.
• Ability to inspire and develop students' musical talents.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in organising performances and leading music events.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and creative environment.
