Job summary

Prior’s Court School is seeking a Music Teacher to deliver engaging music learning sessions and support young people to achieve progress within the Learning Framework. The role requires planning and delivering lessons, and applying visual schedules and structures to assist students in tasks.

A passion for music and experience with autistic learners is valued. Salary ranges from £23,732 to £46,940 pro rata plus SEN allowance, with benefits including 33 days leave, a Teachers Pension, and CPD

Qualifications

• Good musical ability and proficiency in at least one instrument.
• Experience teaching music at any level or leading group music sessions.
• Experience in performing music.
• Knowledge of autism and complex needs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Follow long-term planning with Learning Lead.
• Create/adapt learning plans for groups, including Extended Day activities.
• Maintain regular contact with parents and key stakeholders to share progress.
• Ensure environments are functional and safe learning spaces.
• Provide coaching/mentoring to autism professionals.

The Music Teacher will deliver high-quality learning in an environment that will support young people to grow and develop, and plan, deliver and evidence learning to support young people to achieve individual progress in Prior's Court's Learning Framework in all Areas of Learning., We are looking to engage a Music Teacher to join us at Prior's Court to deliver engaging music learning sessions within our school. The Music Teacher will deliver high-quality learning in an environment that will support young people to grow and develop, and plan, deliver and evidence learning to support young people to achieve individual progress in Prior's Court's Learning Framework in all Areas of Learning.,

• Follow (long-term) planning as agreed with Learning Lead
• Create and adapt (short and medium term) learning plans as relevant for groups of young people, including support for Extended Day activities
• Meet regularly with Learning Lead to feedback and work collaboratively to improve outcomes
• Use and help others to use schedules, visual structure, and communication systems to help young people understand and carry out tasks/activities successfully
• Understand and support others to understand and implement young people's This Is Me plans for Areas of Learning
• Ensure regular contact is maintained with young people's parents and other key stakeholders, sharing progress updates
• Ensure relevant environments are functional learning spaces
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment for young people, including monthly monitoring
• Role model best practice and provide coaching/mentoring to a range of autism professionals
  Qualified or unqualified teacher
