Music and Performing Arts Teacher – permanent and full-time contract from 22 August 2025.

Salary: MPS / UPS

At the Cedars Academy we believe in being kind, working hard, and taking responsibility. We believe school should be a calm, and safe place, where teachers can get on and teach, and pupils can get on and learn without disruption. We explicitly and relentlessly teach pupils positive behaviours and we have a simple, centralised behaviour and detention system, run and supervised by SLT, to support teachers with this. We are looking for a passionate, committed and inspiring Music and Performing Arts Teacher to join our Team. If you are keen to make a real difference to the lives of young people, get in touch to arrange a visit.

The Creative Department is a collaborative team who are all passionate about seeing young people succeed in their subject and offer a vibrant place for students to learn and develop their creative skills. We are looking for a like-minded individual who can add to this already thriving team. You will have the opportunity to develop your own vision for music education at The Cedars, shape the department and curriculum and grow the department into KS4.

At The Cedars we believe in being kind, and working hard. This goes for all members of our school and we pride ourselves on our staff sense of community. We always welcome new teachers warmly and with enthusiasm and we look after each other. We would welcome your application.

This post is designated as a regulated activity and requires enhanced criminal records check for a regulated activity (including a barred list check). If you would like to come and visit the Academy or have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us.

Interview date: as soon as possible

We encourage applicants to apply as soon as possible as we reserve the right to close applications early if we receive a high volume of applicants.

The Trust strives to be a diverse and inclusive place where all staff have a seat at the table: a seat to be free, a seat to inspire, a seat to challenge and a seat to succeed.
