Job summary

J Murphy & Sons Limited is seeking an Assistant Quality Advisor to support Energy projects on EGL 1, near Sub-station DH6 2RX. The role focuses on Quality - Right First Time and working with the Quality function across design, construction and commissioning.

You will help promote best-practice quality, perform site inspections, review ITPs and assist Project teams in developing Quality Plans. Prior experience in engineering or construction and CQI/ISO9001 credentials are advantageous.

Qualifications

• CQI membership and ISO9001:2015 Lead Auditor qualifications are beneficial.
• Solid understanding of ISO 9001 standard.
• Previous experience in engineering or construction environments.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Be a champion for the Quality - Right First Time initiative.
• Establish and promote best practice in quality matters with the Quality function.
• Ensure personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities and provide advice as required.
• Support site management teams to ensure compliance with Quality Plans.
• Carry out regular inspections and audits of sites to verify work complies with Company Policy and procedures.
• Review internal and supply chain Inspection and Test Plans.
• Promote reporting of nonconformances and assist with closing actions.
• Collate and review Quality statistics for reporting to Quality function.

A day in the life of a Murphy Assistant Quality Advisor

• Be a champion for the "Quality - Right First Time" initiative.
• Establish and promote best practice in quality matters in conjunction with the Quality function.
• Ensure that all personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities, and to provide advice as and when required.
• Support site management teams to ensure compliance with all requirements stipulated in the Quality Plans.
• Carry out regular inspections/audits of sites and work places to find whether work is being carried out in accordance with Company Policy, Procedures and other stated requirements.
• Review of internal and supply chain partner Inspection and Test Plans
• Promote the reporting of nonconformances and manage, provide advice on closing out actions.
• Collate and review Business / Contract Quality statistics in a timely manner and submit to the Quality Management and Quality function for reporting purposes.
• Review Quality statistics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement Quality campaigns and improvement plans in agreement with the Quality Management.
• Provide support to Project teams in the development of Quality Plans.
• Produce Quality plans, procedures and associated documentation and check compliance.

Experience within a Quality role

• Relevant Quality Membership (CQI) would be beneficial along with ISO9001:2015 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor qualification
• MS package knowledge (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, MS Project)
• Solid understanding of the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard.
• Chartered Quality Professional - Member (CQP MCQI) advantageous
• Previous experience within an Engineering or Construction environment
