Job summary

Network Rail in Wales and Western region is hiring technicians for maintenance roles. You will work outdoors in varying conditions, leading and supporting a multi-skilled team to deliver safe, reliable railway services.

A commitment to safety, strong communication, and the ability to adapt to shifts and challenging environments are essential. Applicants should have NVQ Level 1/2 or equivalent experience, with a readiness to learn and develop within a dynamic railway maintenance environment.

Qualifications

• Leadership to motivate and direct a team for safe, efficient work delivery.
• Strong communication skills to give clear instructions to the team and colleagues.
• Knowledge and practical experience in inspection, faulting, maintenance and renewal techniques.
• Commitment to safe working practices and ability to challenge unsafe situations.
• Persistent problem solving and keeping up to date with new standards and procedures.
• Willingness to learn and develop relevant skills and competencies.
• NVQ Level 1 or 2 related to the discipline or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team when prompted by the team leader and ensure safe, efficient work delivery.
• Deliver clear instructions and communicate effectively with the team and stakeholders.
• Apply inspection, faulting, maintenance and renewal techniques in your discipline.
• Model safe behaviours and implement safe systems of work, challenging risks as needed.
• Develop skills and competencies to meet evolving rail industry standards.
