Job summary

Network Rail in Wales and Western region is seeking an experienced supervisor to oversee maintenance works, ensure safety and quality, and deliver assets that meet required standards. You will direct and check worksites, prioritise tasks and allocate resources to fix faults efficiently.

The role requires strong knowledge of safe systems of work, planning processes and asset condition techniques, plus the ability to coach others, communicate clearly and maintain records.

Qualifications

• Experience directing and supervising worksites safely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of resource planning and work organisation processes.
• Experience with track inspection, renewal and asset condition assessment techniques.
• Knowledge of relevant standards, procedures and instructions.
• Awareness of cost and waste control techniques.
• Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Able to coach, influence and develop others.
• Willingness and ability to drive as required by business need.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and check the quality of work at worksites and confirm assets are compliant to standards.
• Carry out work safely and in accordance with safe systems of work procedures, method statements and other instructions.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Undertake inspections in accordance with standards as directed.
• Prepare work and resource specifications and method statements including Safe System of Work Plans.
• Assist in developing work plans that enable safe, efficient delivery and compliance with standards.
• Assist in the identification and proposal of asset renewals and resource allocation.
• Deliver work in line with relevant maintenance plans and update systems/records.
• Contribute to staff surveillance, performance and welfare as directed.
