Job summary

YPP, a vibrant property company, is seeking a Maintenance Operative to join the Nottingham office. You will perform general and specialised maintenance across residential and commercial properties, including electrical, plumbing, joinery, and safety tasks, with occasional travel to other locations.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence is required.
• Basic plumbing and joinery experience.
• Good working knowledge of electricals.
• Experience in plastering, painting and decorating.
• Experience working in student accommodation, residential, or commercial properties.

Responsibilities

• Carry out initial inspections and make repairs.
• Perform general residential and commercial property maintenance.
• Conduct risk assessments prior to work.
• Follow Health and Safety regulations (COSHH, etc.).
• Test equipment to meet safety standards (fire alarms, emergency lighting, extinguishers).
• Progress reporting to management and coordinate with colleagues.
• Inspect utilities and take meter readings for consumption monitoring.
• Replace light fittings and perform minor electrical maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, safe site and remove litter/graffiti.
• Perform door hanging, locks, flooring repairs, and furniture fixes.
